OFFICE 2000 install probs

Well when i try to install office 2k i get this error message This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer service.

Well when i try to install office 2k i get this error message "This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer service."
other than that almost everything i have has installed fine even liveware 3.x

Office installed perfectly for me. I have the premium edition. I don't know if that makes any difference. I would be interested to know what you did to get Liveware to install tho ). Maybe it's a hardware software combination.

I've seen this error before, and it turned out that the CD had CRC errors...

I believe those were my CRC (cyclic redundancy check) errors that i told you about Yuppie.....it turned out to be a bad burn of the Office 2k disc (which was only a backup of my existing Office 2000 disc)
