ok, what setting caused this funky look in Explorer?

This is a discussion about ok, what setting caused this funky look in Explorer? in the Windows Software category; anyone know what setting caused this thing?. . . . it's not supposed to look like this and it's bothering me instead of the usual grouping it's grouped into a bounch of letters? wtf. . . anyone have any idea.

anyone know what setting caused this thing?.... it's not supposed to look like this and it's bothering me

If my memory serves me correctly (I'm running 2k, not xp) just right-click and change the view to large icons, or whatever you prefer. That view is 'By drive letter' I believe...

Yours is shown "by name" and "show in groups" must be selected.
 
Just right click and change it to by type or something
 
or you can do it by the view menu, view-->arrange icons by...

oh well.. i had a feeling it was that easy.... just didn't think the "sort by" actually affected the sorting aswell... hehe :x
