old refresh rate problem again...
This is a discussion about old refresh rate problem again... in the Windows Games category; hey. . . . i just bought and installed a geforce2 mx400. i'm running win xp and tha latest driver from nvidia's site (28. 32). direct3d games default to 75hz (alien Vs predator 2) opengl games default to 60hz (soldier of fortune,jedi knight II,return to castle wolfenstein ) I'm new to nvidia.

i know about the NVidia Refresh Rate Fix utility but according to the author it Doesn't work with the 27.41 and newer drivers.

Try looking at http://guru3d.com/files/ you can download the latest drivers with the refresh rate fix already applied.

Yeah refresh lock is excellent, only found 1 problem with it, or rather some games. Some games insist on a particular screen mode, mechwarrior 4 is 1 example and the game ends up fighting refresh lock for the 'correct' mode. The lock eventually loses as its got an option to give up after about 30 tries. Had to go back to the usual nvrefresh fix just to play mw4.
