open GL subsection RTCW

This is a discussion about open GL subsection RTCW in the Windows Games category; I have been trying to load from install, Return To Castle Wolfenstein. onto my XP. But I get the open GL subsection message, as if something is missing, this game plays well on my laptop xp but not on home pc.

I have been trying to load from install, Return To Castle Wolfenstein. onto my XP. But I get the open GL subsection message, as if something is missing, this game plays well on my laptop xp but not on home pc. I dont want to continue on laptop due to overheat to such aheat active game. Is there a download or a way to get this application. many thanks Steamman.

Well, actually by default XP uses software OpenGL which works alright if you have a fast enough processor. I wouldn't say "XP's default drivers are bad for opengl" because XP doesn't include the OGL ICD's for specific video chipsets, just the generic software opengl32.dll file.
