Greetings,
Just started work at a new office and who are having some unusual problems with attachments. Here's how it goes...
NT 4 Server running Exchange 5.5
Workstations running Windows 98/Office 2000/Outlook 2000
When e-mail is sent to most (not all)customers running Outlook Express, the message is recieved without the attachment. If the same message is sent with Outlook Express, both the message and the attachment get through.
This has only been the case since the office upgraded from Office 97 to Office 2000.
Any ideas. The Office suites are running service pack 2 and all patches etc.
Any ideas as to what is causing the problem?
Cheers,
G

When you installed Office 2000 Service Pack 2, it added the Outlook Security patch. It prevents you from sending/receiving executables. This is done to help stop the spread of viruses. The solution is to A.) uninstall Office and reinstall without SP2 B.) Zip the attachment so it is not seen as an executable or C.) change the extension of the attachment and put instructions to change it back within the e-mail.
