It is disabled as far as I can tell in the options box in express. Not sure where it is coming from. Am running windows xp on a hp computer with dsl.

Outlook Express is configured to run Windows Messenger NOT AOL Messenger on startup. AOL Messenger must be configured to run elsewhere eg Programs Startup folder or Run via registry (unless AOL Messenger has an option to -replace- windows messenger)...
