Ping/Connection Problem

This is a discussion about Ping/Connection Problem in the Windows Software category; 2 days ago I was left unable to sign on to AOL over my cable modem and get the message The connection to the host was lost. At first I thought it was an AOL issue but I have found that I am no longer able to ping anyone from my computer and get an Error Code 65 when I try to do so.

2 days ago I was left unable to sign on to AOL over my cable modem and get the message "The connection to the host was lost". At first I thought it was an AOL issue but I have found that I am no longer able to ping anyone from my computer and get an Error Code 65 when I try to do so. Comcast, my ISP, said it was an issue between my cable modem and my computer but they don't support XP and wouldn't help me. Any ideas how to fix this issue?

That's a pretty nice way to treat your customers...how about you switch ISPs? Ohh, let me guess...they only "recently" included support for W2K as well, since it's a relatively new OS, right?
