Pioneer's DVD-RW Drive - it's available :)
This is a discussion about Pioneer's DVD-RW Drive - it's available :) in the Windows Hardware category; Well I just happened to take a look at where they have a 'Today Only' section (Special prices on certain items each day). Everything that appears in their Today Only section is available ex-stock. They have the Pioneer A03 DVD-ROM Writer for £529+vat.

They have the Pioneer A03 DVD-ROM Writer for £529+vat.
So there is our starting price, we'll most likely see that drop over the next few months.
As long as Pioneer make a SCSI version I'm gonna be there, nice price already!

www.overclockers.co.uk have been selling that model for almost a month at £575 + VAT.
Scans normal price is £579 + VAT. Not a huge difference, but Scan also load it with high delivery charges.
I reckon there isn't going to be much uptake on them (except in spe[censored]t areas) until the price comes down to the £300 mark.
Still, as you say, the technology is there and the price drops will come.

OP
Hummm, £50 cheaper and then £10 for delivery.
Net result, £40 less.
Personally I call £40 a fair bit of money, but if you can say it's just pocket money - power to ya!
