This is a discussion about Playing movies in W2K with DirectX 8.0a in the Windows Games category; I am running into some issues with my W2K laptop when running Worms World Party, Red Alert 2, Age of Kings and StarLancer. The symptom is always the same, the intro movies (and cut-scenes) are playing sound but no video.

I am running into some issues with my W2K laptop when running Worms World Party, Red Alert 2, Age of Kings and StarLancer. The symptom is always the same, the intro movies (and cut-scenes) are playing sound but no video. WWP kicks me out and RA2 is not playable.

Sierra games (Half-life, Ground Control and BlueShift) are working fine.

DXDiag does not seem to detect problems. I am running DirectX 8.0a with an ATI Rage Mobility M1 AGP2X, refresh rate set to standard.
Does somebody have an idea about where the problem is coming from and some hints on how to solve it?

Thanks in advance.

Close Net Meeting before playing those games and install the latest Windows 2000 Compatibility Update.
