Please help - data damage - laptop - portable HD
This is a discussion about Please help - data damage - laptop - portable HD in the Windows Hardware category; I got a problem when trying to transfer data(wav or mp3 files in this case) from my laptop to portable HD over the USB. It transfer normally without any errors, but when I listen the song, I hear some crack sounds during the play.
I got a problem when trying to transfer data(wav or mp3 files in this case) from my laptop to portable HD over the USB.It transfer normally without any errors, but when I listen the song, I hear some crack sounds during the play...so the file seems to get damaged during the transfer. If anybody knows or maybe has the same problem...i would appreciate to get some advice how to fix the problem...thank you in advance!

I'm assuming that the files sound completely normal when on the laptop?
I've had similar issues when transfering music, but I think that it came from the old HDD, as it hadn't been defragged (or even used) in years, so I assumed it came from that. I would have tested it, but I lost the HDD after the transfer, so it's somewhere in my house.
At what quality did you render the MP3s at? Lower qualities are just that and could lose even more quality with a transfer, but that's a big "could"
