Well, here's my problem:
While I was on my other computer, I tried to change the settings for the resolution (it was too low) but then after resetting the pc, it said something along the lines of "cannot display this video mode".
My dad tryed to have a look at it but made things worse - now the USB ports don't work, and neither do the ps/2 (i think that's waht they're called)ports don't work for the keyboard.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? (all I want to do is go into safe mode and reset the original resolution settings)

Is this an LCD? If so it's possible your LCD doesn't support the lower resolution of safe mode which is 640x480.
If you cannot get any video at all and you know that it's just a video problem then I would try to find a CRT monitor or another LCD and plug your computer into it.
You may also want to look around in your LCD's OSD and see if there's any option in there that you can configure.
