policy for win2000
This is a discussion about policy for win2000 in the Windows Networking category; hi I read what was posted in the message below about policy editing for NT 4. 0 server but i still need help. I've got win 2k server running with active directory and crap. on the server, i created a user named server and added him as a member of a group that i created so he can log onto the server locally.

I've got win 2k server running with active directory and crap.
on the server, i created a user named "server" and added him as a member of a group that i created so he can log onto the server locally.

I'm using poledit.exe, and want to "hide drives in my computer" only for the user "server."
I was able to hide the drives for everyone when i clicked: file,connect,compname,server/administrator. checked the box, and then saved it.

where exactly on my drive am i opening this file and saving it?

if i create a new policy for the user "server", what directory should i save it in?

if it requires me to save it in my netlogon under the shares directory thing in computer management, how can i do that?

If you are using W2K at all, then you need to use the Group Policy editor. Run "Help" from the start menu and do a search on Group Policy.
