PentiumIIIEB with 256 Megs of RAM
RivaTNT2 Graphic Card (32MB) Model64 (Yeah )
Abit BX133 with ATA100-Raid Controller
IBM 20GB 7200RPM Harddrive connected to onboard HPT370 controller
4GB Harddrive to Primary IDE controller
Pioneer DVD (Slave), Cretive CDRW(Master) to Secondary IDE controller
Creative SB Live! Player 1024
3Com Network Card
USB ISDN Device
WinTV Hauppauge TV Capture Device

did you check if your graphics card has a collision with any other hardware?
I think its the RAID.
XP doesn't like anything running off my RAID at all, that why I have it installed on a seperate ATA 33 (Yeah I know!!!)
The symptoms you describe are exactly what I had when I installed beta 2485/86/95 on my RAID
