Populous and Populous: Undiscovered Worlds

This is a discussion about Populous and Populous: Undiscovered Worlds in the Windows Games category; Has anybody been able to get these games working under Windows XP? I've just had an e-mail from the girlfriend saying she is trying to run these games under the new machine I've just built her and they are not going as she put it.

I've just had an e-mail from the girlfriend saying she is trying to run these games under the new machine I've just built her and they are "not going" as she put it.
I only get to see her at weekends, so it wont be until Friday when I get the chance to try the Compatability options.
Just wondered if anybody has successfully got these running so I'm prepared for this weekend.

If you've both got XP just use "Remote Assist" it's incredably useful

OP
I thought about that.
I've never actually used Remote Assistance over dial-up and unforunately we are both still in the world of 56k - is it actually useable at that kind of speed?

Aye the games are pretty old.
I'm hoping that setting them to Win95 in compatability mode might be enough to get them running - it was just a long shot that somebody else here might have used them under WinXP and knew exactly what needed to be done.

Are you talking about the absolute very original Populous for like Sega?

Cause I do have it working, but not number 2....

Go to www.funmix.bravehost.com then click DOS games and find poulous *theres one and two there, 1 I didn't have to do anything special with, just number 2 is a mess)
