Hi there,
Last weekend I got Red-Alert 1 working under Windows 2000 having followed directions in one of the forums here.
Now when I try to run any form of Setup.exe that uses the older Installshield product I get "MSVCRT.DLL is not a valid W32s application" error box, then followed with an "application error 0xc0000142" box. All other functionality of W2K is fine, and I can install software if I use a .msi package without a problem, but something has screwed up my ability to install certan software.
I've reinstalled C++ runtimes, reinstalled IE6.whatever, as well as copying the MSVCRT.DLL file from my 'non-Red Alert enabled' W2K machine. I was able to get the .msi from Office 2003 to launch, and I chose 'repair' in the hope that m'be something in that large product would fix it, but it didn't.
In short, I've tried just about everything I can think of so I was hoping that someone here might have some suggestions - thanks in advance!
