Printer showing up in device manager
My printer shows up in Device Manager under other devices with a ? next to it even tho I installed it thru the printer icon in control panel. Could this be because I have it piggy backed to a parallel zip drive?.

Win2k didn't autodetect your printer? Uninstall the one under other devices, click scan for hardware changes in device manager, and see if it is redetected. What kind of printer is it? Are you using Win2k drivers for it? More information please.

Sorry. The printer is a Lexmark 5700. Windows 2000 autodetected it and placed it in the "other" catagory. Properties says the device is working properly, but when I go to the printer icon in the control panel it's not there. This printer has a 2 floppy set for installing drivers and a control panel of it's own. One set of floppies for Win98 and one for NT 4.0. I ran the setup for NT and it works perfectly, but the device is still listed in the device manager. It's not causing problems, I was just curious if it was caused by the piggy backing thing with the zip drive.
