Problem installing Windows updates..I have WindowXP home edi

Hello, over the last six months or so, when I go to install Windows updates it is taking me well over an hour to install the updates. Can anyone help? When I try to close down the install window, I end up needing to shut down my computer and I get one of those dreaded blue screens.

Something like that happened to me a time ago, the answer??: there's a service in windows xp which confirms the signatures of windows files and new files you're installing which was not started.

Go to the RUN window and put in there "services.msc" (without the quotes) and be sure that the cryptographic service is running Ok.

Hope it helps.
