List your games.
Disable sound and see if this affect speed. If so verify that yoiur sound settings are correct. If so then try VDMSound (a better sound emulator than XP's sound)

Did you try the File ==> Properties ==> Compatibility
I put compatibility win95 for an old DOS which didn't want to work and it works.

I tried to run my old favorite game "Transport Tycoon Deluxe" and it wont start at all. Gives me a message about it not finding the Com 3?!??! Why would a program whant to find that? It cant be the mose can it? I tried both my orig. Disks and a DLd copy from the net and none works? I'ts not a great pain but it would be fun to play it in a nostalgic sense

you can also use VmWare to have a DOS or a win98 running into your XP and start your old prog from there... I had to do it for my scanner with no XP support.
