Problem with sound in Duke Nukem 3D
This is a discussion about Problem with sound in Duke Nukem 3D in the Windows Games category; I'm running Windows NT 4. 0 and I've got this problem with sound on DOS games. I installed VDMS and now have sound support in most of my old games, with the exection of Duke Nukem 3D and Doom. I know there are intricate sound settings in Duke's setup.

I know there are intricate sound settings in Duke's setup.exe and tried to set Sound Blaster on port 220, IRQ whatever and DMA - I forgot that value too. Saw this configuration in the tips in VDMS installation. Well, the game refuses to run with these settings, with or without VDMS.
So, any of you guys know if it's possible to make Duke and Doom run with sound under NT? And what settings do I use?

1. Use Jdoom or one of the other new Doom engine's to play Doom
2. As for Duke Nukem 3D at the most only MIDI will work. No SFX.
