Hey all,
Our company got me an MSDN account and I downloaded XP to test. The problem
is that laptop I'm using has WinME installed. When I run install from
windows it tells me it cannot detect the version of windows running and
kicks me out of the install. If I boot from a Win98 CD and then browse to
the CD and run X:\I386\WINNT.EXE and it starts copying and then locks up
saying its still copying and the HD icon on the laptop stays on but nothing
happens. Any ideas ?? Please help.
Thanks

Format and boot from the WinXP CD
It may be copying the driver.cab file but taking a LONG time because smartdrv isn't loaded. How long have you waited to see whether anything happens? As it is already on cd, have you tried simply setting your cdrom as the first boot device and then booting from the cd?
