Problems w/ Star Wars Racer
This is a discussion about Problems w/ Star Wars Racer in the Windows Games category; I am having a problem getting Racer to work under Windows2000. It installed correctly, but when i go to run the game, it exits and doesn't give me any error messages. I get to the blue bar, and it fills to about 95%.
I am having a problem getting Racer to work under Windows2000. It installed correctly, but when i go to run the game, it exits and doesn't give me any error messages. I get to the blue bar, and it fills to about 95%. Then, it just exits and that's it. I am thinking it might be a video card problem. I am running the Creative Annihilator Pro DDR w/ 6.47 detonator 3 drivers. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Does anybody have any solutions?

OP
Evidently RACER doesn't like the 6.47 drivers. I installed the 6.34 drivers and everything worked like a charm.
Yep, the 6.34 are the best.

Please see my message of 9th Feb. I also have a problem with Star Wars Racer on Win2000 (reboots after thermometer bar), but I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that it was a Win95/98 compatibility problem. Perhaps it is a video problem. I am using an ATI Rage Fury XPert 2000 pro, driver 5.0.0.139.
Is there anywhere I can find out if it is a video problem?
TIA,
Alan

It's a video prob. It worked fine on the 6.34's a long time ago for me. Now with the 6.67's it doesn't work.

You're right - it was a video problem. Downloaded and installed the latest driver (5.13.01.192) - Racer now works a treat! Now my problem is with Quake III Arena on W2K, but I'll start another thread for that.
BTW, what are you referring to when you say "the 6.3 works...". Was that for the Creative Annihilator Pro in the original message, or the ATI Rage Pro that I was referring to?
Many thanks,
Alan

I am running the Detonator drivers for my NVidia based card, and have the same problem with my computer rebooting after the progress bar. Does anyone know where I can find the correct drivers that WON't reboot my machine? Thanks!
are you all crazy running win2k using 6.XX series! 11.01 is THE only driver to use.
