Problems with all games

This is a discussion about Problems with all games in the Windows Games category; Can some1 help me. When I used to run XP, every game used to run fine. Reformatted yesterday and installed windows 2000 & Service Pack 2 and all my games will run for about 20 seconds, then just crash back to desktop.

What could be causing this?

Install all updated drivers. Such as VIA motherboard drivers and Directx 8.1b for starters.

Also why did you go from XP to 2K? (I applaud your decision if you know what your doing....)
