Problems with Sblive Value and System Shock 2

This is a discussion about Problems with Sblive Value and System Shock 2 in the Windows Games category; Im running system shock 2 on win2k pro with SP1 installed and when I play with or without EAX enabled, the voices of the computer and email messages come through extremely low. any ideas? I have a SBlive Value running Liveware 3.

All the other sounds such as the machinery, mutants etc are all VERY LOUD

this might sound stupid (otherwise i wouldn't have a clue) but have u tried turning up the main volume and wave volume using the volum icon on ur system tray??

what type of motherboard do u have?

Could it be, that you connected your SB live with a dolby-surround/AC-3 hifi amplifier. Those discribed symptoms sometimes occur, when a game doesn´t fully support surround sound and your amplifier is in surround mode and not in stereo mode. If this is the case, switch your amplifier form surround to stereo.

well my speakers are the Altec Lansing ACS45's with the sub-woofer, so I dont think I have them hook up to a amplifier.

Yuck. Ive got the same problem only its the same way with UT too. Majorly annoying, especially when you do most of your gaming at 2am when everyone is asleep. Im running a soundblaster live x-gamer card and klipch promedias. Please someone help!
