Which is better, 256mb of PC133 DRAM or 384mb of PC100 DRAM? Thoughts anyone? I do alot of digital video editing and photoshop work. A little gaming too. Athlon 1. 2ghz, VIA kt133, Geforce 2 64mb AGP.

the 256 would be higher bandwidth obviously
which would be good for games wich don't allways need a real lot of ram

but the 384 would help with ps and vid editing. You genneraly want a gig of ram for ps or vid editing in my opinion

I have a simmilar configuration. First I was using 256 Ram pc100, than I added two 128mb pc100's and the comp got a little slower (Like 0,4fps in quake 3). But in the ps there was no big difference. I edit up to 100 MB images in ps. I don't do video. In games there is no big difference above 256Mb. In your case I would go for the pc133 or even better try running the pc100 at 133. Maybe it'll go. (I had a pc66 chip running at 100)

My specs: celeron 1.3
2x maxtor 40Gb
512Mb pc133 @ 100
geforce 2MX 32Mb

OP
I can't rachet up the PC100 to 133, the computer just freezes upon bootup. I hate having a spare 128mb stick of PC100 sitting around not being used but then again I dont want my system performance to suffer.
