RAM limits
This is a discussion about RAM limits in the Customization Tweaking category; I currently have 128mb PC100 on my PII400 Dell Dimension V400. I personally think 128mb is minimum recommended requirement for Reasonable Response, though i really think i need 256. I have three dimm slots, two free.

Though i have some questions regarding upgrading the mem:
I have 1 stick of 128 @ 100mhz, can i chuck in an extra stick of 128mb @ 133mhz or does it Have to be at 100mhz aswell.
If i cannot missmatch, then... could i put one stick of 256mb PC133 in ?
How do i know if the PC can handle more than 128mb per slot? How do i know if it can handle 133mhz? Or will it just run at 100mhz default?
Suggestions Appreciated,
Cheers.

Yes, you can put a PC-133 block in. It will run at 100 mhz. Check your motherboards manual for RAM size support, I reckon it supports a 256 MB block.
Just so you know, you *might* have to update the mobo BIOS to support the new RAM. I had to do it for several Dell systems here to support some newer 100/133 sticks that I got from Kingston and Crucial. After the update, they worked great.
