recycle bin icon broken
This is a discussion about recycle bin icon broken in the Windows Software category; My recycle bin icon dosen't change when the bin has something in it. Its always showing the empty icon even if there are files in it. I have checked the icon settings for the recycle bin and they are correct with different icons for both states.

I have checked the icon settings for the recycle bin and they are correct with different icons for both states. This is common to all users and does not go away after restarting/logging off etc.

I heard that it might have something to do with permissions. This is not certain yet. I have windows on NTFS and many other FAT32 partitions as well so each partition also has its own recycle dir but not all the drives can have permissions since not all of them are NTFS. Still working on it! In the mean time, use your recycle bin to hide files! No one will check a 'empty' recycle bin for files!
Have you trying changing the icons to something else in display properties then back... that fixes it when it happens to me
