Red Alert under Win2k Pro
Hi I have tried all the suggested remedies (copying directories, APPCOMPAT etc. ) to install RA under Win2k SP1, but to no avail (I keep getting 'this is a Windows 95 only game' message at install).
Hi
I have tried all the suggested remedies (copying directories, APPCOMPAT etc.) to install RA under Win2k SP1, but to no avail (I keep getting 'this is a Windows 95 only game' message at install).
I don't want to dual boot for one game, but are there any tricks to try or third party apps to get around just the install checking the Windows version?
Thanks.

goto blindread.com and get the blindread suite
you could goto astalavista.com to look for the crack for that
use blindread to make an image of redalert disk 1 and 2 and save the image to any folder
goto http://go.to/gamefix and get the daemon tools
install daemon and that creates a virtual cdrom drive
double click on the new daemon icon on your desktop to get it started
right click on the daemon icon in your system tray and make sure all emualations are check marked
then right click on it again and goto virtual cdrom - device 0:no Media then mount image. point out disk one and then install. Enjoy. It has worked for many.
