Registry problems??

This is a discussion about Registry problems?? in the Everything New Technology category; I terminated an installation a a program but after terminating it my com would not boot normally it will only boot normally if i choose the directory services repair mode. In normal booting it will hang after the applying personal settings thing.

I asked some friends and they said it might be registry problems what is happening!

Well the game i stalled is Fifa 2004 then one of the files could"nt be readed thus i had to quit installation. i think that was when my registry key got corrupted! some goddamn person please help!!!

stick the XP installation disk in, boot with the CD and select the R (repair) option. This will look like it's reinstalling the operating system but all your settings and files will stay intact; this should solve the problem

The problem with red bull's method is that i do not have an XP disk, i only have a old windows 98 disk!! Can i download it from somewhere?

I have seen something similar and if you are able to hit CTRL ALT DEL at the hanging screen, sometimes you can kill some processes off and are causing the hang. It may hit desktop and then allow you to manual sweep the registry.

I terminated every single process except those critical processes. the last good configuration does not change anything!! I asked a local repair man and he said my hard disk could be corrupted!
