Removing things from sys tray

This is a discussion about Removing things from sys tray in the Windows Software category; I was curious as to how you can remove things from the sys tray in win 2k. I know how to do it in 98 and Me, but its not quite the same. I know if you go into system information it will tell you what is starting up in the sys tray, but there isnt any way to remove the things from that list.

Is there a way to do it in Win2k without any third party software? Is there a similar MSCONFIG command for Win2K?

Msconfig works O.K. in Win2000, it just gives a couple of error messages at the start regarding autoexec.bat and config.sys, which can be ignored.

Nope, not really! Unless you edit the "run" entry in the Registry. Believe me, you are much better off using the utility! I do, it works great!
