(Sorry for my bad english)

Unfortunately I'm not expert in these things, but:

# do you have tried on another PC?

# do you have installed it (not only run)?

You must know that every XP machine has its own life and acts differently from other similar machines.

I used RE 2 on XP and I had no problem.

You must excuse me if I can not tell you much

How to fix Resident Evil 2's save/load problem for Windows XP.

1.) You must install a fresh copy of RE2 to this location C:\RESIDENT EVIL2. (Im not sure about moved saved games, but you can try to move your old saved game files to new location.)

2.) Once installed and CD is in the drive goto CD-ROM drive and explore the contents (Right click, explore).

3.) Once inside the disc navigate to REGIST, to the LEONP.exe, or CLAIRP.exe. (or CLAIRU.exe, LEONU.exe, what ever the case maybe)

4.) Right click the exe file and create a shortcut to your desktop.

5.) Goto your desktop and right click the shortcut. Goto compatability, and enable windows 95 capable mode.

Your RE2 should work, load, and save games correctly at this point! Have fun, and be sure to use the shortcut exe from now on.

To fix the laggy game play problem in Windows XP simply have Windows Media Player running and minimized in the background.
