This is a discussion about router ports problem with Avast antivirus... in the Windows Networking category; I have 2 Pcs connected to a router. The router is connected with a modem with internet (dsl connection) I uninstalled the Avast antivirus and then, while the modem seems to work fine, the router seems to be dis-configured, or anyway, its not working.

I uninstalled the Avast antivirus and then, while the modem seems to work fine, the router seems to be dis-configured, or anyway, its not working. Neither pc can connect to Internet now. Any help? Maybe its a port-configuration problem?

Try unplugging your router's power for about a minute. With all of the cables unplugged, plug in your router's power and wait for the self test to complete. After that is done, plug in the cable from the modem, then plug in your PCs.
Afterwards, type in "ipconfig /release" from your command prompt and then type "ipconfig /renew" in the same window. Check your Internet connection. If you are still having problems, connect to your router's web server and check the settings there.
