For me its BG2, better story and more varied things that you can do.

Your question is too broad.

Best Single Player RPG
Baldur's Gate

Best Multi-Player RPG
NWN

I voted BG since I do not play online games.

I am also pissed that more and more game companies are turning the single player games into tutorials for the online games. Me no likely. But what I think does not matter.

I agree Dosfreak. Hey so why did you like BG1 over BG2?

Meant BG2. Played BG1 first when it came out but after playing BG2 it's extremely difficult to play BG1. They should combine the BG series with some new additions and release the full thing on DVD. That would be great.

BG2 is much better from a single player standpoint - the story is much more in depth, much more rounded, less of a hack 'n' slash.

NWN was good, but the story basically boiled down to 4 chapters of "explore areas, kill creatures, find what you're looking for" - it didn't (for me at least) have as strong a storyline as either BG1 or BG2.
