Hi, my first post...

So I've got my new system with Windows XP Service Pack 2 on and quite simply, Championship Manager Season 01-02 just will not run.

It insists just after installation that the game "needs direct x" and to "please ensure you have service pack 3 installed", now to my knowledge i dont believe there is a Service Pack 3 for XP yet.

When you click on the Icon in the CM0102 directory theres a slight pause of loading before the "CM0102 has encountered an unexpected error and must close" so as you can imagine its quite frustrating, even more so when I tried my old DOS version of CM97-98 only for it to work bloody fine !!

Is there any way I can get round this error and just get the game working on my system ?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks,

Chriso

It's probably looking for NT4 SP3. Have you tried compatibility mode? Right-click on setup, go to properties, go to compatibility tab, choose win95, Run setup.
