I have the original DOS Mechwarrior game, which I like a lot more than Mechwarrior II because the controls were simpler and let me get right to the action. It ran beautifully on my old 486-66 with the use of the atslow program, which would have allowed it to work properly on computers up to about Pentium 120, but was too fast on an AMD 333 even with atslow at maximum.
Is there any way to make Mechwarrior work on an AMD-1333 running Windows XP Pro SP1 with a Soundblaster 128, 768 mb RAM, and ATI Radeon 9200SE video? I'd try a patch, crack or anything, as I love this game and haven't been able to play it for a few years, ever since a friend wrecked my 486.
Other, similar vintage games work, such as Raptor and Wolfenstein 3-D, so there ought to be a way.
Thanks.

I also have a problem with an ancient dos program.
When I run Wolfenstein 3d, my digitized sound works great,
but the music and sound effects fail to work. Can anyone help?
