Running Win 95/98 Games on Win 2000
I have just updated from NT4 to Win 2000 Pro. I then followed the advice in the FAQ below. This appears to have had no effect (unless I'm missing something!) When I right-click on a shortcut, and select properties; I get the normal tabs - General, Shortcut and Security.

Some W95/98 games run OK, but some (eg FIFA 2000) come up with a - "Only works on W95" error...... Any help appreciated

Can I fool an application into thinking that Windows 2000 is Windows 95/98/NT4?
The latest Application Compatibility Update has the ability to make a program think it is running under Windows 95/98 or NT 4.0.
To select the OS:
Right click on a shortcut of the program, and click properties, the compatibility tab come up. There are three options:
1) Windows 95 Compatibility Layer,
2) Windows 98 Compatibility Layer, and
3) Windows NT4 SP5 Compatibility Layer

If you have SP2 or newer, all you need to do is register slayerui.dll and that will add the compatibility tab to your shortcuts.
