"Save Picture As..." in IE6 problem

For some very strange reason, when I right-click and Save Picture As. . . in IE6 under Windows XP, it wants to save as an untitled bitmap image, rather than the original jpeg or gif. It doesn't even give the option to save as jpeg.

it only does this with some of the pics i do, if u try the Nt logo, it will save it as a jpeg with the name of the file.

I would assume or think, it may have to do with the way the web site is designed..?

but that don't explain why outlook does it.

It's not specific sites or weird site design. It happens quite randomly, on sites which I know have jpegs

Yes this is very annoying. My solution is to use a download manager.

All you have to do is clear your temp files. It occurs when your cache is full. Tools - Options - Temporary Internet Files.
As soon as you clear the temp files the save as jpeg option returns.
