Scheduled startup

Hi, How can a NT4-server get scheduled to start up, e. g. each Monday morning at 07:00? And to shut down Friday evening? For shutting down there are shareware solutions available. But for starting up we can't find anything at all.

Do you have experiences and hints?

I have seen hardware solutions to do this. Basically you dial into it, authenticate, then you can power up or power down your machines. They may have other features, but a basic hardware solution is what you are asking for.

Some motherboards have things like wake on ring and wake on lan that can accomplish this, however I don't recommend it based on what you described.

Quite a few new-ish motherboards have wake on alarm settings in the BIOS. I've used mine myself as an alarm call sometimes.
