Server Tweaking?
This is a discussion about Server Tweaking? in the Windows Hardware category; Okay, I got an Abit BE6 mobo in the cheapo bin for $25 and so far its run well (Im installing Win2k Pro on it right now), and Im just wondering in general about having a little server for hosting LAN games here.
Okay, I got an Abit BE6 mobo in the cheapo bin for $25 and so far its run well (Im installing Win2k Pro on it right now), and Im just wondering in general about having a little server for hosting LAN games here. Basically it would just be a HL frag fest, and having a dedicated server would give everyone latency. Im gonna grab some more ram ASAP, and Im just gonna host matches with this rig. I know this isnt much but I dont need a killer server here anyway.
Heres the specs right now:
Abit BE6
Pentium II 400
64MB PC100
Fujitsu 5.2GB ATA33 5400RPM
Fujitsu 4x CD-ROM
1.44 floppy
Matrox 2MB PCI video
ISA network card
I got everything but the board lying around the house, and Id just like any help I can to get this running smoothly.
Once again, I will be upping the ram as soon as possible (like tomorrow)
