Service Pack 2 broke SMTP

I installed SP2 today and now my virtual mail server will not work. The SMTP service is started. But the Server in IIS will not start. . . i get some. . . did not respond in a timely fashion error. is there a way to fix this? thanks Ancker BTW.

try uninstalling sp2 and/or rechecking all of your settings. if all else fails, reinstall windows .

I couldn't go very long without mail...so i had to uninstall SP2...
 
But that upset me because i DID see a performance boost.
