Service Pack 2 broke SMTP

This is a discussion about Service Pack 2 broke SMTP in the Customization Tweaking category; I installed SP2 today and now my virtual mail server will not work. The SMTP service is started. But the Server in IIS will not start. . . i get some. . . did not respond in a timely fashion error. is there a way to fix this? thanks Ancker BTW.

I installed SP2 today and now my virtual mail server will not work.
 
The SMTP service is started. But the Server in IIS will not start...i get some "...did not respond in a timely fashion" error.
 
is there a way to fix this?

try uninstalling sp2 and/or rechecking all of your settings. if all else fails, reinstall windows .

I couldn't go very long without mail...so i had to uninstall SP2...
 
But that upset me because i DID see a performance boost.
