I always disable that service. Never had any problems, what problems are you facing that require you to re-enable that service?

OP
well now when i go back to services, i click on one to change it but it never pops up for me to change it. Windows Media Player no longer works, always says memory is full. I no longer am able to use cut/copy and paste. Add/Remove Programs no longer shows up......etc.

This sounds more like a corrupted registry then a sevices issue, the problems are most likely symptomatic of this kind of corruption
