Shadow Man
This is a discussion about Shadow Man in the Windows Games category; Recently, I've been going through some old games of mine. I came across my copy of Shadow Man and decided to run through it again. Problem is, it doesn't want to cooperate with WinXP. At first, the game wouldn't even start.
Recently, I've been going through some old games of mine. I came across my copy of Shadow Man and decided to run through it again. Problem is, it doesn't want to cooperate with WinXP. At first, the game wouldn't even start. After trying both official patches, it will run, with some trouble: a minute or two after starting or loading a game, the framerate goes from a solid 60fps to about 15fps, and some of the text options in menus become distorted. If I try to run in Compatibility Mode, the game won't start at all.
Is ANYONE running this game on XP without any problems? Any information or tips someone could give me concerning this matter would be greatly appreciated.

What is the requirements for this game?
Is it commerical, shareware or freeware? If so, where can one get it to test?

Darkside, set the compatibility mode for the game and try that. Just right click on the games icon and choose properties, then click on the compatibility tab adn set it for what that game requires.
Peter, the game is commercial.
OP
Thanks for the replies.
I have already tried running the game in Compatibility mode for Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000. None of them have worked, even after applying both of the official patches (the game will run after applying the patches, but with the problems I mentioned above).
Peter, the game is commercial, however the company that made it (Acclaim) has filed for Bankruptcy and is no longer in business.
