shutdown screens
This is a discussion about shutdown screens in the Windows Software category; WIth windows 9x, if we go to shutdown -> shutdown -> ok, the computer really shutdown, with win2k the computer shows a msg: It's now safe to shutdown or something like that, is there any way to put win2k to really shutdown, and don't show that msg? Look in your device manager if ACPI is correctly managed by your computer.
=> Start / Settings / Control Panel -> System ( Hardware tab )
If not, be sure to have enabled it in your bios and installed the latest mobo drivers.

Hope this will help you.

If you got acpi disabled then it will show that 'its now safe blah blah blah' screen unless you tell it to use APM instead, that will make it actually turn itself off.
You can enable it by:
Right click desktop-->properties
Screen saver tab, click 'power' button
That should bring up a new window, click the 'APM' tab, and click the checkbox that says 'Enable Advanced Power Management support'
After that it should turn itself off after shutdown.
