sidewinder drivers win 2000

This is a discussion about sidewinder drivers win 2000 in the Windows Hardware category; I recently upgraded to Win2000 and now cannot install my Microsoft Sidewinder Dualstrike and Precision2 controllers. They are no longer supported on Microsofts website. When i put the software CD in I get an error message-16 bit Windows Subsystem-c:\winnt\system32\autoexec.

I recently upgraded to Win2000 and now cannot install my Microsoft Sidewinder Dualstrike and Precision2 controllers. They are no longer supported on Microsofts website. When i put the software CD in I get an error message---"16 bit Windows Subsystem-c:\winnt\system32\autoexec.nt-The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.Choose 'close' to terminate the application."---It also gives me the choice of clicking 'ignore',but that has the same result as 'close'.If anyone can tell me what this means and what [if anything]I can do to resolve this issue I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you.
