Sidewinder software on 2k
I can't get the sidewinder profile software(original software not sidewinder 2) to install on my 2k machine. it says it cant install on an NT box. i know that there is no way around this but is there other software that can take it's place? i play mechwarrior 3 and 4 and certain things i want done thru the joystick ...
I can't get the sidewinder profile software(original software not sidewinder 2) to install on my 2k machine. it says it cant install on an NT box.
i know that there is no way around this but is there other software that can take it's place? i play mechwarrior 3 and 4 and certain things i want done thru the joystick cant be done like using the shift key to double the amount of buttons. and now i can't. ms = :x it's there forced upgrade to the new joystick series. =/

2000 with SP2 or SP3 should have built-in driver support for Sidewinder devices, goto control panel, gaming options, Add button, scroll down to Microsoft SideWinder (auto detect). One problem I have is SP3 broke SideWinder Gamepad support, it now misdects the GamePad as 3DPro or something. Under SP2 it would autodetect my gamepad correctly.
