SimCity 3000 UK Edition
This is a discussion about SimCity 3000 UK Edition in the Windows Games category; Well I risked it and bought the game after reading reports that said it a) Worked fine and Worked with some problems. According to the readme, the UK Edition may have sound or graphics problems when running under 2K.

According to the readme, the UK Edition may have sound or graphics problems when running under 2K. Luckily I don't get either of these. What I DO get though is slightly irregular (but nonetheless annoying) performance problems. Occasionally the game "hangs" for about 15 seconds accessing the hard drive. Othertimes it has these jerky fits where it keeps reading from the disk. I also occ***ionally get the message about "Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory swap file...".
Any tips for giving the game maximum memory and improving its performance?

Make a permanent swapfile of 500/500. If you can't spare the space 300/300 will do you fine in games on average.
