Simple Video Card Question
This is a discussion about Simple Video Card Question in the Windows Hardware category; Ok, there has been some heated battles around about Nvidia vs. 3Dfx. . now, I have a choice. . . all that I have is a RivaTNT 16 MB PCI Video Card, I'm kinda getting sick of it. I can get a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP for free.

I would take the Voodoo3 3000 definetly.
Only advantage that the RivaTNT has over the Voodoo3 is 32bit color (Slow that it is on that card).
Take the Voodoo3. More compatible, way better performance, no 32 bit color in Quake3 (oh well).

I love the nVidia stuff, but I would go for the V3. Way better framerate vs the base TNT.

Nvidia didn't really overtake V3 until TNT2
the V3 would be a much better card than the TNT1
the V3 would be a much better card than the TNT1
TNT1 isn't all that bad. Last time I benched I got 9fps in Quake 3 1024X768 32bc 32bt. On a P3500@630. With my Geforce 2 GTS 64m I got around 80fps. With my G400 about 20fps.

thanks all..it's just that my 3DMarks were 1858 normally and 1921 overclocked about 10 Mhz higher. I just don't think that the TNT is going to be that great for me anymore..
I'll probably go with the Voodoo 3 and run 3D Marks on that and run it for awhile just to see.
