Single mouse click double clicks with w2k

I installed w2k and brand new mouse drivers, but sometimes, when I single click, it double clicks. All settings for the buttons are correct. This is obviously a software issue. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I've got the opposite problem:
Sometimes my mouse won't doubleclick! (I've got to redo it then.)
I'm using the Intellipoint 3.0 drivers with my Intellimouse.

hmm sounds like its the problem with the software. It might not have uninstalled properly so try uninstalling it and making sure that the reg entries ect are fully uninstalled. Then reinstall, otherwise your SOL and will have to format

OP
i found out the problem. It was actually hardware. The way I figured it out was I opened my mouse and rigged the wires to go from the right button to the left and then set the software accordingly. Then everything was fine (but now i need a new mouse )
