Slashdot story about Tim Patterson "Father of DOS"...

This is a discussion about Slashdot story about Tim Patterson "Father of DOS"... in the Slack Space category; Yeah, I read that earlier tonight. Lots of info I didn't know but it's hard to get the facts from Slashdot. Going to have to find a good book or something for the REAL truth. Unfortunately, that's what this whole mess is about.

Lots of people bashing DOS, heck they probably don't even know what DOS is!

As you mentioned APK, DOS is still usefull even today:

Low level access to hardware
Low memory footprint
Fast boot speed
Less possibillity of corruption due to virus/spyware/adware.
Cheap to license

Compare this to something like Linux or Windows Embedded and for certain types of hardware DOS is more usefull.
