Slow Logging Onto Server 2k3 Domain
This is a discussion about Slow Logging Onto Server 2k3 Domain in the Windows Networking category; I have a Windows 2k3 box and several client computers in my home network, which take an age to log into the network. Its normally around 10 minutes to progress beyond the applying personal settings notification.

I am using a router which acts as my internet gateway and clients all point to 192.168.0.1, and can access the internet fine. Ive set up clients with static IP addressing (192.168.0.XX). I wonder if my DNS configuration is correct, initially it was pointed at my router address or 192.186.0.1. I expect DNS to be the problem for the slow logins, and wondered if any of you guys can help.

OP
Resolved it, it was DNS - I hadnt pointed DNS to my server, so I guess it was going to the router which was saying "WTF??" and bouncing it back.
