Slow Logon With Mapped Net Drives

This is a discussion about Slow Logon With Mapped Net Drives in the Windows Networking category; I have a assortment of mapped network drives to different computers on my network. If i logon to my local machine and one comptuer is not on, it takes a long time to log in. I remember Windows 98 having a option of either Reconnect at Logon or Reconnect at first use, but i want it in XP too.

Run REGEDIT and traverse down to the following location:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider

Add or edit the following:

RestoreConnection : REG_DWORD : 0
